Does anybody know of or have the factory horsepower and torque vs rpm tables for 164 ci engines? I already have the table for 180 hp engine.
Thanks

I honestly can't remember where I found this one. Maybe from a book I read.I was working 70+ hours a week at the time so my memory is a bit fuzzy. I put the table together about five years ago for a calculator spreadsheet I made.

I think what he means is something like this. This is my program approximation of the stock 110 engine. It is very close to what GM came up with.

I think there may be a graph in the SAE papers because I saw it and was able to compare until I got my program to respond like the GM graph.I am not at the right computer to look at the SAE papers.

Wow that show some super low RPM Corvair engines!
Peak torque on the 180 is at .32RPM. That's only 19.2 revolutions per hour.

Chart looks correct to me; 3200 actual RPMs divided by 100 = the 32 displayed on the graph..

I guess I'm missing something.

Yes, you are.
The graph is NOT showing "actual RPM's".
You use the "Key" at the bottom of the graph to determine "actual rpm's".
On any other graph, you take the shown RPM's and multiply by 100, to get actual.
If you follow the key at the bottom of this graph, . . .

Shows that English isn't a precision language. Either interpretation could work but the chart is backwards from the normal usage. There may be rules I'm not aware of.
Tachometers usually are marked RPM x 1000. I don't think I've ever seen one marked the other direction.
It seems to me the intuitive way to read any output is reading, operator, actual.
Tach 6 x1000 6000
Chart 3 /100 .03
Like I said there may me some rule for graphs and charts I am not aware of.

Gentlemen,
Thank you all for the replies. Sorry to take so long to get back. Very long day. Attached is my horsepower and torque table for 1965 180 engine. It originated from an SAE paper a friend dug up years ago.
Ken has the format I was looking for with lots of useful parameters, though the graphic from the Classic Corvair by Bob Helt is useful for me too. I can build the table from it also, just a little more work. Might as well use my engineering knowledge at home too. Thanks Ken and Dan.
My Corvair hobby is still just a hobby seeing that I have not bought a trailer yet. Which as we all know is a sure sign a hobby has become an obsession...

Thanks Matt! The hp usage numbers for the fan look to be off by a significant amount... 8-8.3 at 4000 engine rpm (6320 fan rpm), 15-15.6 at 5000 engine rpm (7900 fan rpm) and 27 hp at 6000 engine rpm. I wonder if the columns listed above skipped a couple of rpms... 18 hp is expected at around 5250 engine rpm, not 4600 for example.
