Matt,
What makes you think they are Bluetooth let alone 4.2?
Bluetooth is 2.4GHz
These claim to be 433. 9200MHz ± 0.1MHz
I found this comment on another forum about that frequency:
Well, 433 MHz is in amateur radio band in both USA and Canada. You can expect strong interference there, since common radios are much more powerfil than those modules. For example 5 W output power is common for hand-helds and 50 W is not rare for mobile radios.

I got a $15 off $75 coupon and 10% back on eBay bucks so I order 6 more just like the one I already have. The other one I ordered like Matt's got cancelled. I guess the seller was a scammer. It does show shipped anyway so you never know.

Because I had to Pair... Didn't think more about it..

I tested one of mine at 60 ft... open area... removed cap from tire...walked back to house and looked at head unit... was in Alarm Beeping.

Wow. You are a lot smarter than I am. I looked at what they called pairing instructions and couldn't make any sense out of them at all. Luckily mine were already connected. I'm hoping that with multiple units they don't get confused. They should all have unique IDs but who knows with cheapo China junk.

It's Comical

Instructions are written in Chinese

Software [ like Facebook's ] is used to translate to English.

I call that Chinglish

Then I translate!

Had to do this with WalMart's $20 Bluetooth radios.. It's fun!

I got a solar power one like Matt's from an eBay seller here in the USA for $4.25 + shipping from NC. Under $11 total.
Came yesterday - brand new in a box - complete.
I charged the display/host then screwed the labeled sensor on each wheel.
Waited a few min. Then turned on the display and all units were paired.
Easy as upside-down Cake!

I'll report back as I use this. I'm impressed so far!

For all those that bought one of these [ Joelsplace pic above ]

How are they working?

I bought 3.

2 on my cars are working great! Nice to know the Air temp at all 4 corners of the car on those Frosty Mornings! But mostly just around town.

3rd set went to neighbor for his '96 Yukon with 33's.... They went to Marin, Ca. over the Holidays...said it was great to "know"

I'm pleasantly surprised how well mine has been working. The summer heat may cause issues so check back in a few months but good for now.

They do read the air temps of the tire but I don't find it all that useful because the temp readings are very easily influenced by things such as sunlight on the caps.

I actually picked up a nail and a slow leak not long after I installed these and it did reveal a slow loss of pressure over about 4 days of driving before the alarm sounded.

I mainly bought these to put on my car trailer but use them daily right now on my WRX to see how they work out. Install could not have been easier.

So far, it is a cool little $20 tool that has been simple to use and not a cause of frustration.

I bought a bunch of them and so far they are great. The only real complaint is you have to remember to turn them off if you park the car inside or under a car port because there isn't enough light to keep them charged. The auto off isn't enough to keep the battery from draining in a week's time or maybe the auto on is too sensitive and they don't stay off?

Update:

My system worked! I had the sensors installed on my car trailer tires and they indicated low pressure on the RR tire on Sunday morning. I thought I possibly had not tightened down the valve stem transmitter caps fully and maybe I caused the leak. Simple fix right? An inspection showed I had picked up some screws in the tread. Should be repairable I hope. Tire was new last summer.

I had one save a front tire on my van. Paid for it in convenience alone not even counting the tire. I had a rear tire grow a bubble a few days ago on the Lakewood. It didn't help with that of course.
