Well, it appears to be a 1964 but many will want to know the following information:

WHERE is it located, Alaska, Hawaii, Canada, Soviet Union, South America, or maybe Toledo Ohio? Letting people know the general location would be a good idea.

Does the car have a CLEAR Title and is it in your name?

Is the drivetrain included in the sale. Is it complete, or is what you see, what you get?

Additional photo's and a better description would not hurt either.

Wow, what a deal !

I think you need to get in touch with the American Pickers producers, tell them you got a “hot” one, a gem in the rough, an American classic. I can’t believe the asking price, only $2500 for a car virtually ready to take to Pebble Beach. It sure looks like it’s got a brand new rust job, premium one too.

I’m sure there’s going to be a fight over this car.

I'm thinking at that price it comes with the tire machine. Might be an ok deal.

The rest of you guys, I am ashamed of you! thumbs down

It is one thing to bash and make fun of Craigslist ads belonging to people that we do not know and do not belong to CCF, but to treat a fellow forum member in this way is an abomination.
Randy came on here to present an offering among those whom he thought were capable of appreciating what he was selling, and all of you jumped right into a game of mocking him. sad smiley
Would I pay $2500.oo for this car?
No.
But, I did not immediately jump on this thread and start ridiculing what is presented.
I saw the post, I read the post, I thought to myself that the price was a bit high considering the condition of the car, but I kept that to myself(until now).
There are two reasons that I would not buy this car.
#1. I have been blessed, in that every Corvair I have bought in the past has been in better shape than this one, for less, or the same amount of money.
#2. I am not in the market for an EM Spyder.

I can not believe the hypocrisy I am seeing!
People are constantly bemoaning the fact that our little Corvairs are not recognized by the Classic Car Community, and have no real collector value, and then as soon as someone tries to get any value out of their Corvair, everyone starts screaming about "How High he is".
Personally, I am one of those that likes the low values of Corvairs, and I hope they stay affordable.
But I see the day coming, when people will say, . . .
"A restorable, beat up Spyder for ONLY $2500.oo ? ! ? ! ? ! ? !
Are you kidding me?
How can I reach this guy?
I hope no one calls him before I do!"

Seriously, if you must make comments expressing that you feel his price is high, please at least have the courtesy to do so in a diplomatic* fashion!

I totally agree with American Mel.

If it was just about anything else, $2500 for a solid California car would not be questionable.

'64 Spyder convertible is on the top of many most valuable Corvair lists.

Corvair people are half to blame for Corvair values being low. Maybe we like it that way.

It needs everything but looks basically solid and straight and all there.

At first I thought pale yellow with a red interior was a bad combination but the idea is kind of growing on me. If a Buick Roadmaster can get away with it why not a Corvair Spyder.

Strip that sucker down and media blast it and swap in all the stuff from a rusty but good looking Corvair. How about that smashed up red one that was on here a few months ago. Hopefully it's a real Spyder, I didn't really look at the exhaust opening or the numbers.

Spending $2500 for a solid car looks a whole lot better than spending $2500 on rust repair from here. It's hard to tell from pictures but it looks like surface rust to me.

I have never complained about Corvairs being too cheap. I think they are generally too high.
Almost every time I buy something I get some negative comment and people don't even know how much I paid (if anything).
I don't care. They are free to voice their opinion. I am free to ignore it.
I think it's funny to see people talk about what a good deal a car is but then ridicule the next guy that buys a car way cheaper (me). A lot of those people would probably never buy a car for the price that they say is a good deal. (not thinking of anyone specifically)
If it is worth that much I have a gold mine.
Don't quit making fun of me if you think it is appropriate. I am fine with it, will do the same and won't remember tomorrow anyway.
I'm trying to remember people that have and can't think of a single one but it has happened numerous times.
