I have a Corvair Turbo side draft carburetor but can't figure out the year in the Primmer booklet
The says # 3833038 on top.... 3586(8) or 3? Bottom #

Can they be used early and late/ swapped?
Does that matter?

Matt said, "It's a smaller venturi than a'65-66."

His answer is correct, but a little incomplete.
Simple answer, . . . YES! They can be swapped,
BUT . . . . due to the smaller venturi on the EM carb, your power production will suffer GREATLY if installed on a '65-'66 Turbo engine.
Whereas, using the LM carb on an EM turbo engine would be an improvement!

Bob Helt's book about the Corvair Carter YH is great. Seth Emerson (sethracer) usually has them and Clarks Corvair Parts maybe.

I've seen more than a few carburetors with mis-matched parts, a lot can happen in 50 years. The book is excellent at showing the differences.
