() Date: October 08, 2019 09:58PM Zighra, Dec 18 2003 - Oct 7 2019 (Zigh-ra, like Sigh but with a "Z") It was with broken, and heavy hearts that we said good-bye, and laid our little girl to rest today. In the void of any children by birth, this little ball of fur became our adopted Fur-Child, and marched straightway into the hearts of everyone she met. Zighra knew no strangers. EVERYONE was a best friend, that she hadn't met yet. She spent most of her first 3 years in the cab of our truck. She would get so excited and run from window to window when we would pass a Cow, or be passed by a Harley! Yep, she had a wild streak. Don't know where it came from, neither of us are real biker fans, and never made a fuss about bikes. But she would just come unglued when she heard the rumble of an approaching Harley. She would bounce from one side of the truck to the other until she caught sight of it, and then paw at the window until it was gone. Our little girl saw MOST of this country, and HALF of the one one above us. From the Mexican border, to northern Alberta, L.A. to Florida, Seattle to upstate New York, all points in between, and even Washington DC. She really LOVED to travel, she was not one of those dogs that just sleeps until you arrive, she was always at a window watching the scenery pass by. Zighra was a Crappy-Poo. My wife did not like me to call her that, but I would tell her . . . . "Well, it is better than calling her what she is!" She is a SHITzu/POOdle cross. The word zighra, is from the Maltese language. It means "Small One". She was just 8 weeks old, when we got her, she weighed 1 pound, six ounces, and could fit into a tea-cup. I am not talking about one of those pictures of puppies sitting halfway in a Coffee Mug, I mean that she could fit in the cup, and place the saucer over the top of it. She fit in the palm of your hand, not on your entire hand, but from wrist to the beginning of your fingers, you know, the PALM. Yeah, she was TINY. Within 3 days of coming home, she was diagnosed with Parvo virus. (Parvo KILLS 99.9999% of puppies, and 65% of adult dogs that get it.) I was out on the road at the time, and my wife said a prayer over our new little baby girl. "Please GOD, don't let my baby die." GOD heard that prayer, and gave us 16 YEARS and 10 Months with that little four-legged Angel on Earth. Zighra was the best behaved dog a person could ask for. She was all the characteristics you could ask for, and literally NONE of the ones you wouldn't want. Yes, she was PERFECT ! ! ! -+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+- WA. state, 1 mile south of the Canadian border, I am not at the end of the world, but you can see it from here. Yes, she really enjoyed attending Club events, and seeing all the people. She was such a social butterfly.
