Mr. Badwrench changed out the ignition switch on Skyler The Drop Top AirVair this am.

Thanks to this morning's cool front arrival; today was the first day here in New Orleans that the temperature was below 80 degrees since last April.

Changing out the ignition switch was super-easy.

A straightened out paper clip in the hole in the lock cylinder removed the tumbler.

The unique 3 point lock removal evilbay tool unscrewed the bezel.

One easy push with a screwdriver and the ignition lock cylinder fell back into the dashboard.

It was easily fished out and unplugged.

Installation of the new lock cylinder/key tumbler was just the opposite of the above.

The new switch "feels" different than the old one. Tighter when turning but easier effort when turning the key. Also, the key no longer falls out on the carpeting when the engine is running.
