NEW Clutch cables ,all years, now available.

Hi All

OK. Lots to read but you will like it.

I have finally finished my 'Stainless Steel EM and LM Clutch Cables'. First I must say these are not correct for ‘Concourse Display’. I made these for the daily driver guy who just wants a cable that works and won’t let him down. I think I have done that, time will tell. These cables are constructed with all Stainless Steel parts except the Heim Joint which is Steel and Clear Zinc plated and all clevis’s are yellow Zinc plated and come with grade 8 hardware. Flexible cable end is 1/8” 7x19 Stainless cable, like the originals, and the other end is 1/8” 1x19 Stainless Cable, like the originals. As you can see in the pictures I have added some improvement to the Clutch cables, yep a Heim Joint. So you should not be breaking the cable at the ball end any more. There is over 5 inches of clearance between the EM clutch pedal and the first cable pulley, so no clearance problem here. All cables are a drop in replacement for the original GM version. All swedging is done on a 20 ton pneumatic press with the connections lined with JB-Weld, a little added grip, before swedging. They are then cured for a week. These cables should never come apart.

EM cables come complete with the new pedal end clevis and a newly redesigned clutch end clevis. The Clutch end Clevis has been designed so you can use a 1/2” box wrench for adjustments. The original clutch end clevis is no longer available. The EM clutch end clevis is available as a separate item.

LM cables 65-68 come complete with a new pedal end clevis and a new redesigned clutch end clevis. The new pedal end clevis is designed to go into the slot that the original ball went into. The clutch end clevis is designed to be totally adjustable without turning the clutch cable. Rotating the clutch cable/rod is a big NO-NO. The cable at the pedal end is 1/8” 7x19 Stainless for flexibility. GM used 3/32” cable here, much weaker cable. I have also replaced the six foot steel rod with 1/8” 1x19 Stainless cable. It was good enough for the 60-64 cable why change? I think GM said ‘let’s replace the $.25 a foot cable with a $.02 a foot steel rod’. But this rod bounces and hits the body and tunnel pan. OK let’s add an anti-slap bushing (anti-slap go on look it up) on the rod so it won’t be as loud. My clutch end clevis has an adjusting nut and a lock nut and comes with a ‘hairpin’ type pin instead of the original carter pin. No more twisted cable problems. The LM clutch end clevis is available as a separate item.

LM 69 cable comes complete with a new clutch end clevis. Cable design is the same as the 65-68 cable without the pedal end clevis just the Heim joint.

Pictures have captions in them.

These clutch cables will not available until Oct 25, 2019 at the TOSS in Palm Springs. Need time to build up my inventory.

Any questions or comments please PM me. I have never typed the words clutch and clevis so many times in my life.

Complete EM Cable - $70
EM Clutch End Clevis - $20
Complete 65-68 Cable - $70
Complete 1969 Cable - $65

Cables will be ready for order Nov 1st. All cables will be built to order. SO it will be a few days after I receive order to ship.

Yes I will have a small inventory of cables, clevis's and pulleys at the TOSS.

Even though I have a NOS on hand for my '65, I intend to place a order for one to install in my non correct, non concours car as a way to show my support to someone who took the initiative to come up with a solution for these parts.thumbs upthumbs up

Nice work I'll be ordering a complete set-up for a 64 and 65thanks for sharing your talent!

My name is Mike Worrell living in southern Iowa my vairs are a 64 2dr convertible monza 900 with 110 motor 4 speed light yellow with blk interior. Then a few months ago I got a 65 2 Dr convertible monza 900 with 110 motor 4 speed
Also light yellow with blk interior. Not sure what gear ratio as of now I'll have a look and up date. I really like them both but really liking the 65. They really made a lot of changes in a 1 year difference ????
