Questions about Road Racing a Corvair?
Posted by: OttawaCorvairGuy ()

1. How many road course tracks are available to race a Corvair throughout the USA and Canada?

2. Which ones (Name and Location please) do you race your Corvair at?

3. How many different classes are there to race a Corvair in?

4. What is the average miles (distance) completed per race or track?

5. On average how long is each race hrs/mins?

6. Can you complete the race without a pit stop or having to top off with fuel?

What do you mean by r0ad race, by an official sanctioned organization or a club track day?

Join SCCA, your vair, unless a Stinger will likely be in a sedan class, IIRC.
If you search SCCA.com you will see the tracks where they have their events.

You just missed the an August 2019 track day for air cooled cars in NE hosted by Shades Classics Corvairs

If you SEARCH many tracks will have an open club track day.

Two many variables to answer your question.

Just my two cents.

A track day is not road racing by any means!

Events are either timed or by counted laps, generally laps are in the range of 10-25 laps depending on the length of the track.

There are many tracks all over the US and even some in Canada.

In any SCCA sanctioned event there are only 2 classes for the Corvair and vintage has 3'4 classes available.

Other than some endurance races no fuel stops are needed.
