What size wheel

Hi everyone.

I haven't seen a wheel question in awhile or I just haven't been paying attention. I have a 65 Corsa convertible and I need new wheels. Right now it has Torque Thrust wheels with 215-60-14 tires, and I'd like to go to 15" wheels. What is the widest wheel I can use, and what does my backspacing need to be? I assume if I tell them they are for a Chevelle I'll get the right bolt pattern. I'd like to use 215-60-15 tires, does anyone have an opinion for or against this?

And then we have whitewalls, white letters, etc. eh, that's for another time. Thanks everyone. Have a good evening.

I have run 215-60R15s on a late model before. Some slight rubbing on the front fender wheel opening at full lock but nothing major. You could either modify the wheel opening a bit or do as I did and pay attention in parking lots :-)

205/60R15s on the front will be right for the speedometer.

A great 15" size for the lates is a 205/55-15. They are tall enough to give you a reasonable look, but not too tall for good acceleration. They will fit on most 7" wheels and clear all around.

You may want to check tire availability for the sizes you’re interested in.

I like the setup on my 65 coupe so much that I just ordered them for my 65 vert. 15x6 chevy rallyes with low caps and rings. Summit has the wheels for $60 apiece. Also need concentric rings ($2.50 each). A full set of wheels rings, and caps $450. Tires are 205/60/15 and dont rub.

These are a few bucks more than Americans but the wheels made to order. The centers are blank and thick so they can machine the correct back space and bolt pattern. Ive got a set coming for my early. With shipping $210 a wheel Mike
