Yup, just one more thing to check when building an engine from parts or replacing cooler seals. Hopefully you'll catch it before you've spent the effort cleaning it. NOS doesn't always mean Nice Old Stock. angry smiley

And have it ultrasonically cleaned. You would be surprised what resides therein.
I recently had one that was plugged with oil sludge.
Could not get it clean enough. Went to scrap.

Remember that the cooler is AFTER the filter and the last stop before the bearings. YO [ and engine life ] MV
