Hunter connections?
Posted by: joelsplace ()

I have a Hunter wheel balancer that I need some parts for and have some service questions. I've called Hunter several times but they keep referring me to their local sales rep that has no use for anyone that doesn't want to buy new equipment. Does anyone have connections? Or maybe a good forum to ask?

Don't buy Hunter equipment because service is impossible!

Call Hunter corporate again and inform them their (your) local rep. will not support their equipment with repair parts. I'll bet he changes his tune.

I've called them 3 times. No luck so far. I even talked to a rep from a different area but he said he couldn't help me since I wasn't in his territory.

I needed some help with my John Bean (Snap-on) wheel alignment machine. Snap-on, even at the corporate repair location, wouldn't give me the time of day or take any piece for repair because it is too old. (1995 or so).

I did some googling and found an independent repair guy (happens to be a snap-on truck guy in his day job). He was nice enough to share a schematic with which I was able to repair it myself. I sent him a tip.

That is the kind of connection I need. Maybe a former Hunter tech. Maybe I should call them and tell them I'm going to buy Coats. My Coats tire machine has been 100% reliable.

I contacted them again and actually got a response this time. $125/hr to come look at it. And then $5000 for the part?
