Another 4 door

I hadn't bought a Corvair in a few weeks so I had to have a fix.
Do you think I need to clean the carburetors?
At least I got a Crescent wrench.

Needs just a little vacuuming!grinning smiley

Looks like a ratcheting wrench in there also. And a "speed" wrench that is very rusty. And a version of Channellocks.

But, there is an idle solenoid, very good!

I suggest Bob Helt's (R I P) book "How to identify and rebuilt Corvair Rochester carburetors".

Is that a brace (tool) lying across the speed wrench, channellocks, and vise-grips?

At least they're American, and not metric vice grips.eye rolling smiley

I have to use my metric Crescent wrenches on most all the new stuff. At least some of it kinda-sorta works, like a 5/16" wrench fits a number 8 meetrick hex. grinning smiley

Give it a shot of refrigerant and the AC should be good to go too.

It probably needs an A/C belt also. Should I vacuum the poop out of the battery before I fill and charge it?
Yes it is a '65.

Belt has a bad section. Anyone have a replacement section?

No jokes, hopefully that top shroud (turkey roaster?) isn't too rotten.
Not an easy one to find. What kind of oil filter is that?

I think it is the full rust oil filter. The rest of the car isn't that rusty I think all this rust is from rodent pee.

Joel, it appears to have a factory cardboard condenser cover. Something I have never seen (besides the manuals) nor ever understood the purpose of but have always wanted one just the same.

The original Craigslist ad is still up.

With a better shot of the cardboard.

I wondered about that cover too.

How would it cool with that?

The condenser enclosure sits on top of the fan and pulls air thru the condenser.
It is open to the air intake plenum in the front. Note it is wedge shaped when seeing the sides.
Note the large round gasket on the top shroud fan opening

Joel, can you provide photos of the condenser enclosure, please?

Does look like a nice straight, presumably rust-free body.
I like the interior colors - is it white/ turquoise (797) or white/black (798)?
Kinda looks turquoise (my favorite) Seems to have a padded dash, too.

Please post a photo of the Fisher Body ID plate.

I improved the sellers interior photo.
