Will a 15x8 wheel with a 5” backspace fit 205/50/15 tire without rubbing on a 65 Corsa?

Yes! Have your installer mount one and try it in all 4 positions to be sure.

I have 235x17.5 that fit the rear and 205-17 that fit the fronts.

I have a 66 Corsa Convertible and related question. When I bought the car, it was, and still is, shod with 215-60-14 tires and 14 x 7 wheels, and no spare.

I want to build up a spare that simple and inexpensive: a 185-70-14 tire mounted on a 14 x 6 (5x4.75) steel wheel (that tire size is closest in circumference to 215-60-14).

If anyone knows what the advisable backspace is, please post a response.

Many thanks.

4.5" is the standard factory 13" wheel

Much appreciated.

The 4.5-inch backspace applies regardless of wheel diameter, correct?

Thanks again.

Basically yes... but as you get to 16-17" there's more Clearance.

MattNall, thanks for the info.

I have been unable to find a 14x6 (5x4.75) steel wheel with 4.50-inch backspacing.

The closest I found in that size in steel is with 4.25-inch backspacing.

I'm thinking that 0.25-inch decrease is not critical because the decreased backspacing moves the wheel outward by that distance, correct?

Thanks again.

4.25 will be fine.
