WTB : LAKEWOOD REAR DOORS WEATHERSTRIP
Posted by: EDDIE PRYOR ()

I just found out that Clarks ran out of the rear doors weatherstrips for the wagon rear doors. I'm just finishing my restoration and need help finding a set.
Please let me know about any out their or any solution to this problem.

Thanks

Are you looking for the rear passenger doors, or the wagon cargo lift door ??

I need the passenger rear doors. I have all the rest
I was wondering if there's a way to modify any of the two or four door car weatherstrip to work Thanks

I think OPGI parts might have the them. They are specific to wagons,...

You could piece together wagon rear door weatherstrips from 2 pairs of sedan rear door pieces. The doors are the same length so the bottom part of the weatherstrips would be fine. The sections along the window of the sedan pieces would be short and you would have to miter cut and glue at least the rear upper corner as well as add around 3" in length to the front edge and more at the rear edge as the wagon glass is not only square but 3" taller than the sedan. Could certainly be done with a good (not perfect) results with careful gluing of spliced in pieces with quality weatherstrip adhesives.

You sure about that Ted? The only part of the rear door weatherstrip that might match is the bottom. The sides are taller and the top is way wider than a sedan.

OPGI List a set for 4Door and wagon rear. Clarks say the 4 door car and the wagon are different. Not sure if the set from opgi will work or not.

I am sure that in 2 sets of sedan you would have enough material to splice in to fill in the extra space. There would need to be a section spliced in on the front vertical window to make it roughly 3" taller. The sedan piece could be used from the front upper corner to the rear of the wagon glass and mitered and glued to another piece long enough to span from the top of the glass down to the door itself along the rear of the glass. There would be plenty of material between 2 pairs of sedan unit to do this I am sure.
