On the Corvair Ranch website, they have a Valve Job priced at $10.00 per valve plus parts.

Rebuilt Heads are priced at ??$1500.a pair with a lifetime warranty.
cores: $200 for 95 or 110; $250 for 140; Turbo $300

Before taking this as gospel, it would be a good idea to verify these prices.

A simple valve job (grind valves & seats to match, several angles maybe) or a head rebuild, where you replace the sets with deep seats to keep them from falling out at an inopportune moment?

Simple valve job can be done at home with electric drill (BTDT). But, then the old loose seat can fall out anytime.......eye popping smiley

It depends on what you call a valve job, that can be a wide ranging repair. If the valves are OK then to cut the valves and seats is $89 a head. Most times the exhaust guides are worn and I do bronze guide liners if you don't change the seats. Guide liners are $35 ea. And then you have the incidentals like cleaning, deflashing and maybe a little pocket porting. It all adds up so a price range can be as little as $180 up to $500 and then the extras without doing seats maybe $700. A full blown rebuild with seats and guides can be $2200. These prices are for the pair unless stated for one head.
