I have been very happy with USPS Priority. I've never tried Priority Express. My local rural delivery gals are both delightful.

Lucky you. I've had more lost or delayed mail in 2018-19 than in the proceeding 30 years! Even a certified letter going from Boston suburbs into the city. It literally went back and forth between Boston and the sort center in North Reading 4-5 times, taking over 2 weeks to arrive. I also received cancellation notices when my home owners insurance never made it to Vermont. And even last year, the guy that hauled my Corvair out from western NY. The check arrived half shredded and took about 2 weeks. There are other examples, those are just 3 of about 6 PO issues within the last year.

US mail is poor here too. When I
said something to the lettercarrier
he reminded me of the USPS motto:

Service will NOT be tolerated

All the "mailer outfits" fail, go figure. The adds present them as perfect, In the real world: assume failure until proven other wise is my moto.

My USPS story happened just a couple months ago--

I was returning a bad part to the vendor. I sent it out from here (Porterville, CA--central CA) and tracked it to Anaheim, CA (not the final destination) where it came back to me. This wasn't a case of insufficient postage or a bad address or anything, it simply went there and then back to me, and was considered "delivered" when it showed up at my house!

I'm putting in a good word for the USPS. I dropped off several letters for the wife in an outside drop box and then she tells me one was overweight and had no postage. Called the local PO to get the phone no of the location were I deposited the letter. Called them and relayed what I had done. They were more than gracious about going through the drop box since it had not been picked up yet. They found the letter and held it until I could run over and pay the postage on it.

One thing I don't ever do is put regular mail in drop boxes.

Just kinda my thing...I always walk it into the indoor slot.
