Seeing this thread come up again, I thought I recalled seeing a switch recently advertised somewhere. I couldn't find the one I was looking for but did stumble on the following item that may work for Non Spyder Convertible's.
The Buy it Now price is $82.00 and has Free Shipping from Grants Pass, Oregon.

This is a reproduction switch.
I can't guarantee that it is even close to correct especially since the application chart says it also fits both the Turbo and Non Turbo cars as well as the Corvair 95's
