() Date: August 04, 2019 11:35AM Can someone recommend a source for an EM power convertible top switch? I know the switch is common to other GM vehicles of the era. I have the knob, need a new switch itself. Unless someone has a used one for sale. Thanks! needpart Edited 1 time(s). Last edit at 08/04/2019 12:59PM by MattNall. () Date: August 04, 2019 04:37PM [www.ebay.com] I did a quickie search on flea bay and found several switches for GM products that could possibly work. One in particular was advertised as being for an early Corvair. I can't say with any authority if it is correct or will even work but here it is anyway. Brand: FARGO AUTOMOTIVE, Manufacturer Part Number: 63C-12300 Other Part Number: GM # 4634122 US $75.00 Shipping:$12.00 The GM number here crosses to Clarks number CX5563 P.S. I found an NOS GM switch advertised as "1956-62 Corvette, 54-62 GM - Window Lift/Convertible Top Switch - GM 4634122 NOS" for a mere $174.62 Plus $6.99 Shipping that shares the GM Part number and looks essentially identical. [www.ebay.com] Here ia another that is advertised as a GM Restoration part for $39.95 and free shipping. [www.ebay.com] Manufacturer Part Number: W-081 Brand: Classic Headquarters, Inc. CHQ Interchange Part Number: GM PART #: 3937658 1962 95 F.C. Van 1964 Greenbrier Deluxe 1965 Monza Coupe 1965 Monza Convertible Westminster, Maryland MID ENG enthusiast & prior Kelmark owner. The GM number 4634122 that crosses to Clarks number CX5563, according to the Clark's description is "SWITCH-ELECTRIC CT TOP-62-64 SPYDER ONLY" which would suggest that there is a different part number for non Spyder convertibles. 1962 95 F.C. () Date: August 04, 2019 06:09PM Good catch Caraholic. I forget the spyder and regular Monza switches are different. I’ve owned 6 early convertibles. Only one a powertop. (967) - Monza is p/n 3814719 (667) - Spyder is p/n 4634122 I wouldn’t be surprised if both have common other uses. I’m after the non spyder one. 3814719. Re: WTB : EM Power Top Switch Posted by:

() Date: August 06, 2019 12:25PM The Spyder power top switch is an extremely rare switch, and the one pictured above isn't correct, however, I can't tell for certain if it might work or even properly fit into the Spyder pod. The switch that was used on the early Monza power top is the same as many other cars of that era, with only the chrome switch knob changing. The one pictured above for the 1964 is correct for 1962 - 1964. The switch that I took off of a 1963 for my car has a different knob, and I have yet to identify what it came off of. ![]() --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Woodstock CT... () Date: August 09, 2019 06:58AM My '63 Monza convertible top switch only seems to work in the UP position. I can't hear anything when I try to put the top DOWN. I have a Spyder pod with the power top switch. Just for testing purposes, will the switch from the Spyder plug directly into the Monza wiring harness? Thank you! () Date: August 09, 2019 08:57AM No, they are different. Depending on your skill level, you might be able to disassemble the switch once you have it out of the pod, and clean the contacts, assuming that it is the contacts, not the motor or the wiring. I would unplug the wire from the switch, determine which wire is the power wire, and then jump from the power to each of the other terminals. If you don't get a response in one position, but you do in the other position, then you know that it is either a wiring problem or a motor problem. Don't assume that the switch is bad until you do your diagnostics first. You can also check the switch with an ohm meter with the power removed first. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Woodstock CT...
