Many use 14btdc initial, 24 by 2,000 rpm, and 32-34 by 3,000. All mechanical,

Matt is correct but I'll add that Initial timing depends on the distributor and how much advance it provides. 36 degrees total is arguably rule of thumb. A 319 or 330 distributor would start out at 14 or so.
