my wrench says if the cups on the acc pump dont make good contact with the cyclinder walls, due to pitting, you COULD lose some contact tween the pump and cup, that MIGHT effect how well your carbs work...is there a way to hone the cyc. walls or something in the carbs so the cup makes better contact? thanks

The castings are porous. Usually when the accel pump bores are pitted the pits are deeper than you would expect. Honing or boring to eliminate this pitting is not likely to be effective. Different carb bases without the issue it the answer.
