From the Seller:
1970 V8 UltraVan #510 - Make Offer (Cherry Valley, Ontario Canada)
This unit was a factory prototype for the V8 engine models. This coach has many upgrades done by Vince Murray. It has power brakes, and power steering. The motor is a 350 C.I. Chevy and has a 4 barrel carb with motorhome camshafts. Most unusual for the UltraVans is the addition of a turbo 400 3 speed automatic transmission! The rear suspension has been upgraded to improve the ride and handling; it features widened track and constant velocity U joints. Rear disc brakes with aluminum wheels and 6 ply tires enhance the durability at the rear. Stored in garage since 2008. The engine has a cracked cylinder head that will require repair, spare parts are available from seller if required. Other mechanical items may require service consistent with long term storage. Coach has air conditioning and good glass. The interior has overhead bins and standard features. For more details contact Vince Murray at 613-476-4512.

I wish people would put some sort of a price on things for sale. You never know if they're a good deal or over the moon. I think they miss out on opportunities.

350 with a torque cam and 400 3 speed transmission sounds capable.

Rear disc brakes are more difficult to accomplish, fronts would be nice to add.

6 ply tires are good. I would always wonder if 4 ply car tires are up to the task.

I can't help myself looking at Ultra Vans.

Does this use the Transaxle from an Eldorado or Toronado? If not, how is the rear end configuration?

Mark "V-drive and C3 Vette Diff.

I'd pull the 350 / 400 and use an Ls and 700r4 With Torque Convertor locked up in 2,3,4th.

So, Matt does that mean you are thinking about an offer?

No way.... Just offering an opinion..

I'd even look for an LS 323" with V8-4 capabilitiy.

Recently rented a Silverado crew 4x4 34 mpg over 50 miles on I-5 Redding to Sac. 75-80 mph.. totally flat and straight.
