I have too many project. I am thinking about selling my 1964 Spyder, but I dont know a good asking price. Huge range of prices on the web.Turbo engine that does not run. No rust. Real knock off wire wheels. I would appreciate some advise on what a fair starting asking price would be. Thanks

Where is it?
You should sell the wheels separately. People give a lot for them.

I'd get the engine running.... Check with local CORSA chapter Vegas Vairs

Contact Marty Katz.... he's the main wrench in Vegas..

$2500, even with the wheels...

Running... $7500

Too many possible expenses when you cannot drive a car before buying.

Spend a few hours of labor and you will reap the effort...

Pull the seats (front and rear) and the carpeting.

Wash/Scrub/vac etc and clean up all the storage dirt and mildew.

Take pic's of the floor pans for the potential buyer...

Put it back together and buff the exterior paint and wax it.

Clean the engine bay and trunk.

Then focus on getting it running and drive it....until you sell it.

If you can tell a buyer what is wrong and they are not "buying" a mystery parts car, you will get a lot more $$$$ for it...without putting a lot of money into it..other that your purchase cost.

I don't know about 64's but were vinyl roofs stock options?

No, vinyl roofs were never Chevrolet installed options. Not counting show cars. The Super Monza had a painted textured roof, a common paint shop trick in the early 60s.

As stated above, vinyl top was not a factory option.

However, it was a common dealer installed item. Additionally John Fitch and other aftermarket companies in the 60’s also sold vinyl tops.

Dealers would commonly install vinyl tops or add two-tone paint schemes when they had a car sitting too long or multiple cars of the same color to make them look different.

I personally like them on some cars, but they can lead to rust issues if water stays trapped under the top.

Generally OK for garage kept cars, but not a long term wise choice of cars parked outdoors for their lifetime.

$3K including transport, is STEALING that car!
Transport is at least $1500.oo value.
That makes the car $1500.oo thumbs down

Do NOT accept any offers until you do as Rick said, and get it running, and cleaned up!

Helpful hint to OP...get some better tie down straps. Those are not suitable for securing a car to a trailer.

It's hard to sell folks on the value of a non-running car. The sharks are circling. grinning smiley

Its not a vinyl top. It appears to be some kind of textured paint?
