May 14 Drive your CORVAIR

Remember May 14, 1969--50 years ago.
The last Corvair drove off the assembly
line and into history.

Drive one of your Corvairs and keep the
memory alive.

best wishes, Steve

Unfortunately, after an unseasonably dry and beautiful 4 weeks of incredible top-down, Spring weather, we are forecast for rain the rest of the week! sad smiley

I pulled my 69 Monza Coupe out of the garage today and drove it about 20 miles. I will FOR SURE drive it tomorrow as well as for most of the week before driving it to Alamosa for our annual tri state meet on Friday. C U in Alamosa Steve.

I was not able to drive a Corvair today, for various reasons including less than ideal weather, BUT...

I worked on the derelict '64 Greenbrier engine...

I stood in the loadbed of the Rampside to reach something on a high shelf in the garage...

I spoke to a couple of Corvair buddies on the phone...

And I posted this message.

I was not able to drive my Corvair today.However. On May 14 1969 I was driving home from work in my 69 monza, which I ordered and bought new. I was listening to the radio when the news announcer said the last Corvair just rolled off the assembly line at Willow Run. I'll never forget that moment.

Drove the 62 to run some errands then to our Corvair club (HACOA) meeting. I shoulda taken a picture. We had a good turnout of Corvairs..maybe 10-12? It was a beautiful night.

Enjoy the Corvair!

Drove my 66 to the HACOA meeting as well. We had an auction and I scored a newly rebuilt Corsa clock with a quartz movement.
