1969 door hinges

Ok so what make doors from a 1969 different from let’s say a 1965/66 coupe. Are there hinges that can work to fit 65 doors on a 1969 body?

Totally different... cast Aluminum vs Steel.

But we've read here... can be done.

If you get the 65 door to mount to a 69 body, are you also going to use the 65 interior (door panels)? The window crank/lock release handles are in different locations.

I would probably need to use the 65 interior door panels. But how are the hinges different and what needs to be modified on the hinges to get the doors to fit?

The hinge holes need to be heavily modified and even then not all the holes line up. You'd be further ahead to buy the set of 69 doors I have media blasted and in epoxy primer. PM me. No shipping.

Someone on here must have made some kind of hinge that could work for this?

Not that I have ever heard of. If it were easy, someone would have a solution because it comes up quite often that people buy 1965-66 doors assuming they would bolt right up to a 67,68 or 69.

Not as long as there are correct year doors available!winking smiley

Faster to use correct door than spend countless hours designing a work around. Not that I have not done things like that on other projects!grinning smiley

Would a set of 68 coupe hinges work on the 69?

Al, he wants hinges to bolt a 65/66 or 67 door to a 69 car. Yours are for a 68/9 door to a 68/9 car.

I got some of those too, but it sounds like it wouldn't be a suitable installation.

No if the hinge pins could be removed and mate the 65 door half with the 69 body half that would be the ticket. But I suspect that idea is not workable either.
