Ring of Death

Working on the 66 Avenger yesterday trying to get a Air Fuel ratio. Engine running around 3K or more The Harmonic balancer decided it had enough and complete separation of the outer ring, mind you now that I am standing right above the balancer operating
the throttle on the Fuel Injection. Needless to say it hit the emboss area where the fuel pump would go then bounce downward then sped across the floor under a tool box spinning for almost a minute. So figure I luck out not getting hit by the ring of death, lol.

Don't feel too bad, ford transit connects do this all the time, I've seen them shoot across the shop.

The good news is you can swap the corvair one in a few seconds. On the transits, if you don't have the cam/crank locks installed and pull that crank bolt, you're in a lot of trouble. Some mazdas are the same.
