Coupling nut for Alternator adjustment arm

Has anyone used a running thread coupling nut to replace the single nut on the alternator swing arm? Factory nut is hard to get tom was thinking a 2" long nut would make for easy adjustment. Any thoughts on type and length

If you mean the idler pulley, YES many do that! I have done it myself and it works great. Easy to reach with a normal open end wrench.
