Carb Inlet Needle Valve Gasket Thickness
Posted by: JP_REX ()

My carb kit has two gaskets in the bag with the inlet needle valve and seat - one of the gaskets is thicker than the other. I assume that this is to give you some adjustment range for the seat height.

How do you determine which thickness to use?

Thanks!

Start with the thinner gasket and look at the float level. If the floats are almost touching the carb top use the thicker gasket.

Ken has it!

Float pontoons should be close to parallel to the top cover when it is inverted to check float level and the float level is correct. If not, the extra thick gasket can help make this correct.
