Thank You very much.
Looked in the FAQ, no sign of a way to decode there.
Or did I miss it ?
Nice to see how it started
The car was reconfigured back in the late 1980's by someone else to :
1966 Corsa 140 engine 4 speed 3.55 posi transaxle and the parts to make it a clutch configuration.
1966 AC condenser and other required parts.
Full black interior including interior exposed sheet metal door etc.
Does the body ode reveal interior color ??
Corsa dash parts , Corsa shifter and a AM/ FM radio with rear speaker.
Dual Mater cylinder also.
Telescopic steering with wood wheel.
It had been painted Maroon.
It is almost like they had a wrecked 140 Corsa parked next to it when the conversion began.
I bought with a dropped valve seat while living in the Phoenix area so the body is rust free.
I am glad it isn't a original car, as it allows me to modify as I please, and have since purchase.
It now has a "built" 110 with about 140 fwhp and a 260 Isky cam.
It is also lowered, Hd adjustable shocks and springs, fast steering arms, and metallic brakes
Finned aluminum front drums with bored wheel cylinders to balance the braking.
Dual exhaust with Turbo mufflers.
Stronger engine in buildup.
Again thanks for the help.

There is a very extensive website for decoding hosted by Kent Sullivan and built by him and others with all of the information.

1965, 1966 and 1967 RPO Decoder

Yes - TR is Trim code. 797 is Ivory/Turquoise interior available only on Monza & Corsa. The LOS in the middle of the line above that = Los Angeles (Van Nuys) Chevrolet Fisher Body plant which was attached to the Chevrolet Final Assembly plant.

Corvairs built there are about 1/3 - 1/4 of the production at Willow Run. Considerably more rare and most were sold in the Western States

Ken Hand gave away the "secret decoder ring" website - corvairkid.com - lot's of info there for folks with Late model Corvairs from 1965-1967 - Kent Sullivan is a big fan of 1966 Corvairs!

Dan Davis ~ Pierce County, WA ~ CORSA Western Director + Corvairs NW + North Cascades Corvairs + Corvanatics
1966 Corsa Turbo coupe ~ ~ 1966 140 Corsa ~ ~ 1965 Monza 140/4 'Vert Sierra Tan/Fawn ~ 1964 Monza 'Vert (SOLD) ~ 1960 Monza Ermine White/Red PG ++ ~ 1965 Monza 140/4 Evening Orchid w/ ivory/black interior ~ 1962 Monza Wagon 102/4 ~ 1963 Rampside/Scamper ~ 1963 Red/Greenbrier ~ 1969 Ultra Van #468

So… here is everything rolled up into one post with a few more insights…

02A = Body built at Fisher Body 1st week of Feb 1965

LOS 7798 = Los Angles Assembly Plant 7,798th Monza coupe body built for 1965 at LOS
(Total there were around 88,954 Monza coupes built, with an estimated 75,690 at Willow run and 13,284 at LOS. Considering there was less than 4% of production for AC cars, this is one of less than 532 AC equipped LOS Monza coupes produced.)

TR 797 = Ivory Imitation Leather Bucket seats with Aqua painted interior surfaces.

PAINT K-K = Artesian Turquoise exterior paint

E = RPO A01 Tinted Glass (Soft Ray glass in all windows)

1965, 1966 and 1967 RPO Decoder

Even these 2 sources list the 1965 air conditioning RPO as either C60 or C64. Which is it?
As a side note does anyone have RPO codes for options never offered on our cars? Cruise Control, Rally Wheels?

Wagonmaster, I have a complete (at the time of publication) listing of all the GM RPO's across the entire range of cars and trucks. I'd have to dig it out of my book library, as it's not on computer. What do you want to know? I'll look it up and get back to you.

As to the C60/C64 question, (and going by memory) the C60 was never used on the Corvair, It was always C64. Any usages other than that are mistakes. (Now to go look up that reference book and verify that.)

Just checked my library and found I am correct. The air conditioning on Corvairs was always referred to as RPO C64, whereas the C60 air conditioning was used on C-K trucks, Chevy LL's, and even full-size Chevys.

Stitch, to what code are you referring? I'll see if I can find it.
