I’d like to see the body tag. Very rare car if it is a real one.

That doesn't look like tinted glass. Was that an option delete for A/C?
And there is too much rust for the West Coast guys.
If it was a thousand miles closer I would look.

I'd like to see the code stamped into the engine block. Should be "RR" if memory serves.

Already been checked out folks.

It's really a Monza and the body tag shows it did not come from the factory with A/C or tinted glass. It does have a 140 engine from a Corsa but it's not an RR case.

if it was a legit 66 Corsa vert with A/C it would have been gone by now. grinning smiley

I have a '66 Monza 140 w/factory A/C and only tinted windshield so all tinted glass might have been an early thing.

That is good to know Dave (but disappointing). Thanks for looking at it and posting this to the group.
I noticed the A/C muffler is not quite right. Looks like someone repaired the high pressure hose and made
it too long. Also I see the A/C microswitch on the right hand hood hinge is missing as well as the idle
solenoid. I am thinking this is a 500-1000 dollar car. YMMV.

I wonder what "everything onsite to restore" means?

I also noticed the idle up solenoid was missing and figured that was the first clue that it was probably not an original A/C Corsa. Too good to be true.

He is supposed to have all the pieces for what has been removed. His father passed away and the son is selling the car. There are also a few repair manuals, some repair parts and several Clark's catalogs.

The seller is not John S. nor associated with Corvair Corral.

Figured as much, as I noticed all the missing parts, but didn’t want to be a Debbie Downer, LOL.

Tinted glass was always an option and not included with A/C. There are a bunch of 2E cars out there that do not have tinted glass.

140,A/C,4 speed, convertible. If your into bringing one back to life ? what a great start who cares if its not original. Add Quick steering,Tele wheel etc and build yourself quite a car ! Might be able to talk them down a bit. Mike

Yes. Many people would be happy with it as a 140 HP Monza convertible but it's not a very rare 66 Corsa convertible with original factory A/C (which is how it is being advertised).

If not a 2E car then bet on many A/C items missing...just to name a couple.

Heavy duty Battery
Heavy Duty Regulator
Heavy Duty Alternator
Heavy duty Ignition Coil
Heavy Duty Heater Resistor

Most of the H/D parts used in factory A/C cars were actually Cadillac numbers.

Probably also missing the reinforcement bracing rod under the dash.

Forget to mention earlier...seller also said he hasn't found the title.

Tinted glass, full or just windshield, were separate options, and not a "delete" option, on a/c cars. My '67 convert w/factory air didn't have a pane of tinted in it, but I'm adding it.

They also didn't have the HD battery option as part of the a/c option (it was another stand-alone), nor was there such a thing as a HD ignition coil.

Never heard of a "hotter" coil. But I know the Canadian built cars had a lot of different components. The voltage regulator and ignition coil were 2 of them.
