Just in case there's anyone on this board that perhaps wants to take the plunge that I have not heard from yet....

These fans are designed for standard rotation Corvair engines using the 1965-69 fan bearing hub.

The limited run of these special engine cooling fans are dependant on sufficient orders to proceed with the run. If there are insufficient orders, the run will not take place.

Each cooling fan is $1,100.

Payment by check or money order.

To be included in the special group purchase of these fans, send an email to Kevin Nash wrokit@hotmail.com withyour name, ship to address, telephone number and email address. Indicate how many fans you will purchase.

Your response is required by 15th of February, 2019.

An email will be sent the fourth week of February, 2019, with the status of the run.

If there are sufficient orders to proceed with the run, payment instructions will be included.

If orders do not reach the minimum quantity required, the run will not take place and you will be notified of such.

As an aside, I will gladly donate $100 towards the cost of the fan to one person who might be wanting to do this but is on the fence. It’s not in the cards for me right now but I’d love to see people getting on board with this.

Kevin,

For the 1100, is this the fan only? I know you at one point were talking about airflow pulley and bell?

Thanks
Tom

Same question as Tom, is this just for the fan or your previously mentioned "kit"? Thanks!

I wish I had the funds availble for this, but after buying a new house, replacing furniture that was damaged in storage, and paying my wife's landscaping bill, I have to spend some time replentishing my savings.

If I was in a position to travel out there for that, I would have
jumped at the chance to do it and make a presentation, as I feel
that my fan has a lot to offer for race cars, and is a better fan
than the Porsche style that many of them now use.

The 1100 price is for the fan and balancing. The pulley is
going to be 20 dollars more, which is a huge discount... The
printed Bells will be available at my cost which is 100. There
are standard "Fan" bells out there for 65 dollars so, I've kind
of left that part open for the time being, as this is one of those
things that can be done later.

Pm Sent! again, the pulley will be available for 20.00 dollars if ordering a fan, a lot more if not. The printed bells will be 100.00 because that is my cost through shapeways.

I have reached the minimum!!! now it is the more the merrier!! I'd like to get as many as possible on this run of fans, as it is going to be a long time
before a "production" one can happen. The reasons are that I want to have a good year of testing on this configuration just to make sure that it is right.
then there's going to be a long time getting even more people on board, and collecting money to have proper tooling made and then getting the tooling done.
This process is not cheap nor quick... I figure it is going to be a couple of years for that production fan to happen, so in the meantime, this other way gets fans the quickest!

Thank You so much Chuck!!

I have to tell you all... I am kind of blown away by the reception this fan has gotten so far, it makes me feel like all of the hard work I did developing,
and thinking, and learning and generally obsessing about this project over the years has been worth it. Sheesh, for years it seemed like all my waking hours were spent obsessing over and over every last little detail, checking what I did or planned to do with high performance fans and turbocharger compressors that were already out there in the literature.
Thanks again!, it wont be too much longer before the air cooled world gets a taste of what a real badass fan can really do!!

I'm really tempted on this but I'm pretty far from a technical guru for Corvairs. Almost all of the work on mine has been done by Mel Raven. Would I be better off waiting for the "production" version? Are these supposed to be painted or just run them raw aluminum? Maybe shoot some clear on them?

Wether or not you wait for the "production" one or not comes down to how impatient you are and if your finances can withstand getting one early vs
waiting an undetermined amount of time to pay less. Everyone's situation is different and even if we all were in a similar position, we would come to a different answer to that. If you were to get in now, I'm your tech support, and will be answering any and all questions quickly and can certainly do this for someone else that does most/all of your work. I will be including an installation/set-up instructions for the fan to help make this go as smoothly as possible.
The fans are going to be anodized and sealed to either be painted or left clear, so either way the fan is going to be protected from the elements. In other words, whether it is bare aluminum or painted is a personal preference,
not a requirement.

Hi Kevin, I have been following this since the beginning. You have put a ton of thought and work into the project. Was this done with a CNC or standard machining? Have you ever considered using a lost wax or investment casting to reproduce the prototype. It should produce an exact replacement for less money. If its already stored in a CNC they may not be the case.

Thanks J.O.
