1961 lakewood underside color

I have a 1961 Lakewood that is white exterior and inside the wheel wells where painted white as the car. I saw no signs of white on the underside of the car and the engine was white as well. Anyone out their know the underside color? Could it have been white like the body. Thanks

I had a Lakewood that had never been painted. I put it one my lift and cleaned the underside. It was red oxide under the undercoating.

Thanks for everyones help with this Question. I will spray red oxide and come back with body color in the wells. I'm sure GM let the color overspray on the red oxide but i think i will back tape and keep it cleaner looking. Thanks again to all

My recollections of my old wagon seems to go along with that.

On my all-original 62 Monza, the engine compartment is body color. The underside of the car is mostly primer. (Oakland build)

Steve,
NO Paul has a Monza Sedan - built in Oakland.

All Lakewood/Monza Wagons were built in Willow Run & Oshawa, Ontario Canada

Both my Ermine White & Honduras Maroon Monza wagons are body color in the engine bay
