Can anyone recommend a good location for an electric fuel pump on a 1962 Rampside?

Closer to the fuel tank, the better. They 'Push' fuel better than they 'Draw' fuel...smoking smiley

Having just replaced my mechanical pump with my spare I plan to go to electric next time I have a failure. The one I replaced today lasted 35K miles. I know it is said they push better than pull but will one work mounted behind the left rear wheel where the rubber junction is?

Hmmmm. Half way between the "Push and Pull". May work! I would be concerned about Splash, and road debris on the electric connections. If you try this, report back! Woud surely be more convenient to install, service...thumbs up

Especially if you don't have a lift...

I mounted mine on the inside of the left frame rail, (driver's side) just behind the tank. Will try and get a picture tomorrow if it will help.

I mount them to the cross brace that runs behind the tank. Sometimes I loop the rubber hose and sometimes I cut off the steel line.
I like to mount them low so they gravity feed instead of drawing fuel uphill.
If the tank is iffy I add a clear plastic inline filter before the pump. I usually use the filter that comes with the pump too.
