can anyone verify this?

I have heard off and on that very early production '60's had the Chevrolet Corvair lettering in the hub caps painted black. Seems this would be time consuming for GM to do but it's GM so you never know. If anyone has proof of this please PM me, I have a sign painter that says he can do it. Thanks. EddieB Dade City,Fl

I once had a set of 60 caps that were painted black lettering. They are long gone.

I still have a set of trim rings [I have been told they are for 60-61] and the little bow ties around the ring are painted black.

But I know nothing past that, so maybe others will respond

See page 4 in Mel's World's Oldest Corvair thread - found by search.

Has pictures and comment on factory sprayed black letters.

Later in his post is shows two depths (projections) of early '60 caps.
