my last turbo T hose

Well I had enough of this pos rubber hose , it takes longer for a elephant to give birth before the T hose gives up the ghost . so here's what I did , took my corsa out for a drive other day gave her a tank of the go go juice and low and behold gas that I just paid for is trying to make it back in the tank where it came from at my pit stop . so not to far from my shop I get back and still leaking but not all to bad , back on lift pump out gas into 6 gas jugs ( I know what is leaking way before , I was just waiting for this day ) I have a new tank and hoses in stock mainly for a customer that may need it , well I'm my own best customer ! I have a plan elimate the T hose and go right to the tank with a welded in fitting with a 3/16 steel line running back down the tank close to the return line coming from the bulked where the main feed line comes out , pretty simple and more of an improvement to update and no more leaks , I try to keep my turbo corsa all stock and correct , maybe just some nice mag wheels and a finned oil pan !

Some vendors sell a steel "Tee", others have made them..

Yes! I have this T from California Corvairs, works a treat, no more worries and easy to install. My last Clark's rubber T lasted 6 months before it was cracking and leaking.

I'm lucky I got 20 months out of this one , but I've done that hose 3 times and even if I used the steel type T hose I would gamble on how long it would last so this might out last my time ! oh and I've had this idea brewing for long time , it's simple and easy to get at . and I have the original tank that is still in great shape and clean inside cause I restored it 12 years ago , save it for my next victim !

Looks great. Definitely would not want to be taking the tank back out every couple of years.
Is the rest of the return line still steel too? Just a short rubber hose between them now?

Putting anything into the tank is really wrong. The return line should have went right into the filler neck like Wagon showed.

Wagon Master does it like I do, simple nipple on filler neck. Just like GM did for the 68 and 69 cars!

GM used the nipple in the filler neck in mid '65 probably when they changed the steering gear to the '66 style (they also added a dent to the top of the filler tube for additional clearance). Maybe they felt that they needed more room for the new steering coupler. My '65 and '66 assembly manuals both show the return to the filler neck.

I still have about 20 of our santoprene plastic turbo connectors. These never fail and are only $10.00 each plus post.
