Matt, the question is, are you going to autocross it? Do it! Would the turbo make it IS-3 (CORSA talk; not sure what SCCA would rule)?

May AX it in 2020 San Diego..... After all... what is an AX ???

just a "Drag race" from turn to turn"!!! Many turns not much more than 60 ft!

Class? What ever they put me in.. IS-1 I would think GGG My Turbo is way smaller than a Factory unit - 20 pts My Gen 4 Vette aftermarket lower struts are "Junk", as attested to here by several... -10 pts.

I've only Corsa Ax'd once before.... Built the car to the rules....as I was "volunteered to build a FAST FGB in '99 at Lake Tahoe..

As usual... I set a $$$ limit $2k and many laughed .....

I lost to Warren LeVeque [300 hp mid, and was as fast as Harlan Coburn [ 600 mid ]
But was down in the 31's with a passenger and using my "secret but LEGAL" weapon...

Matt are you upgrading the PG with a higher stall converter? also you may need the blow off valve it's purpose is to prevent pressure build when you go from wot to idle, with out it the turbo is going to see that pressure and stall when you hit the throttle in the autocross

Six weeks already! Xmas and "waiting" on parts slows things down....

Had to tuck the turbo closer to the engine than I envisioned... RR shock is in the way...

And to get a gravity drain have to put it near #5 to get the height...

Turbo is mounted using the head S/M holes 1/4-20... strong enough... since the Turbo's mount holes are M5! and using 0.065" wall tubing.

Somehow i missed this thread. I’m anxious to see how this turns out. I have to believe quick boost from this setup will really wake the Corvair up.

Hopefully it will make boost right above idle... 3-4 psi max and be able to run the pressure thru out the driving range. Luckily it's seldom over 75F here on the Oregon Coast..

That might make boost at idle... j/k. Are you going to bracket that thing? I would make some sort of support just in case.

I sure hope you can gravity feed the drain, it sure does look close...

I would think you would still need a blow off valve on the inlet side. When the throttle plates shut quickly the boost will slam them shut. It would be easy enough to add. Just a thought.

Good Luck! smileys with beer
