Contol Rod Bushings for a 61?
Date: December 05, 2018 05:20AM

The clarks part number C4335 says its for 1960-61 Only but its significantly more expensive than the 62-64. Any Idea what makes them different? Are they interchangeable through the years?

Well, for anyone who's wondering, I still don't have an answer. I called Clark's and they don't have the washers for the 61. The Nuts, washers, and bushings are different from 62 on. So its safe to assume the rod diameter is different. Hopefully my rods and washers will clean up. I rebuilt the whole front end but never did the control rods because of how bad the threads look. I am hoping much of the garbage they are covered in is just old undercoating, but well see.

Ive slept since then - But I seem to recall it was a design change and the later style works fine on 61.

If the rods are smaller... make a metal bushing.. nothing precision there..

No, if the rods are smaller and typical of eastern rods, with threads missing where the bushings ride, buy a set from Davemotohead and use the MOOG style, aka C3015.grinning smiley

Bushings are a good idea. I already ordered the 61 bushings from Clarks, but next time...
