Just like the warning lamps... I'd want to hear them each time I start..

How about a pressure sensitive switch mounted to the turkey roaster....fan stops, pressure drops, switch closes and triggers a buzzer...

As Matt said you could just listen to the buzzer each time you start the car. If that isn't desirable then use a delay and to test the buzzer you just turn on the key and wait the delay period for the buzzer to sound.

I was referring to the existing buzzer for overtemp that is factory for a turbo. Do they sound at key-on, to test that they're functional?

On another note, there is a circuit described in the Nov/Dec. Communique that adds a sounder for press/temp AND Gen/Fan. Check it out.

The buzzer is driven by a snap action thermostat switch, the gen fan works differently. You could add a sail switch at the inlet or outlet, then wire it in parallel to the thermostat.

Finished and everything works. Getting too old working under a dash.

Wasn't that happy with the lightning but it will do. Wound up using the 1816 bulb for the fan light. LEDs for the oil press, turn signal and high beam. What ever bulb VDO puts in there gauges and 1895 in the speedo & tach. The VDO clock has an internal light so it can't be gel'ed green so everything is white light but the stock speedo & tach. With green gels on all the gauges it matches the speedo and tach better but the clock stands out in white. Too bad VDO made the clock that way. I presume it has an internal LED.

Larry - You can check the over temp buzzer by grounding the lead from the snap switch. On the Corsa the over temp and oil pressure switches are on separate wires all the to the front of the car.

If I recall correctly - on the psg. side by down below the distributor there is a connector the receives a wire from the overtemp snap switch. You can unplug it and ground the terminal - that is if the engine bay wiring is in good shape. If the wiring is old, then it's best to leave it alone.

Had mine brake off, then the fan was blowing it around. Buzzer on, buzzer off, buzzer on. WTF somewhat unnerving until I found it but at least I knew it was working.

66Vairman: That will work, thanks. But like J.O. wrote, if the wire should break, you might not ever know it! (Until it was too late).
