WM:

The drop with wipers high speed, medium blower fans and hloagen high beams may not be enough to dim the lights with the internally regulated 67 amp alternator. But I think the stereo Donna has that is going in the car might dim the lights a bit on its own. So taking no chances with the lights. It gets its own power source. I have to figure out the stereo once I get the car back to our house.

Been years since I had one of those!
Mostly I just listen to the Symphonic, Aural Titillations of the Internal Combustion Engine, but back in The Day, I rocked one of those stereos that could be heard 3 blocks away.
Sounds like it is going to be quite the car Al!

Am Mel:

It will have a hell of a sound system to run oldies through. Pioneer radio, amplifier 300 watts per channel I believe, 4 9 inch Kicker speakers and 2 Kicker subwoofer boxes. Got to figure out those subwoofers. Might only install one, due to trunk space.

Here is the instrument gage panel that I will be putting in the Car. Clock does work. I put power and ground to it. I heard the spring wind up but second hand didn't move. I tried a light finger push on the second and it moved one second and stopped. Must be pretty dirty.. Quartz upgrade will be here next week, so it will be replaced.

Open it up, clean it well with lighter fluid, oil the bearing points with synthetic clock oil. You might be surprized

Thank You, J.O. It is a working clock again.

I am going to leave it hooked up to the battery while I am at lunch. If it is at still running when I get back. It is a successful repair. I have the spring keep get reset, so it sounds like a good repair.

Clock ran for 4 hour and 45 minutes before I disconnected the power source. Now to wait on the quartz clock to upgrade the panel. Then panel will be installed.

Since it's fixed why not use it?
Cool factor of being original and it will help run your battery down too!

Yesterday's work we did. Removed transaxle off the engine stand. Installed replacement torque converter seal. Serviced differential with GL5 fluid to proper level. Installed differential cover and gasket. I discovered the front cover of the PG did not have a breather vent. I need to go get one of those now.

Lookat at the 2 instrument housings with instruments and noted the gauges in one from car was just as good as the one from the bins. But the housing was rusty. Transferred car's instruments and wiring into better housing, since they are known working items.

Started a new run of 2 wires for Tach and oil pressure indication gage in the car. They are being run in the tunnel with wires for blower and fuel pump control. All cabin wiring done so we have installed duct and toe panel. Got home looking for PG breather and found some seals for toe panel, so off it comes to put them in. Seals found are for my Coupe.

Mounted engine from car into engine stand, so it can be worked when I get time. Head replacement needed.

Yes, it is an interesting thread. It shows what can found when tryinging to get a car ready for an engine installation.

Wish I thought thought about the extra wires for the tach and oil pressure gage 3 weeks ago.

No much been done since I did some work on the engine. Donna run the extra wires through the tunnel. Now she has run the vacuum line for a vacuum gage down the tunnel. This was a piece I had left over from the couple's installation. Needless to say. It is about 7 feet too short to get to the balance tube.

So we are waiting on more tubing to come in, along with the clock which was due in today.

We did get the Tach location defined. The glove box lock was installed without the need for any adjustment.

Al,
I think the new vacuum line I installed in my '65 coupe measured 16 feet long. I also ran it inside a piece of 1/4" plastic split wire loom to help protect it.
Since I was replacing the wire harness in it's entirety anyway, I went ahead and ordered a Corsa harness so I could have all the wires I needed for the Corsa dash I plan on installing.
It is amazing just how expensive "While I am at it" thinking can be.

Thank you C.A.4.L. The piece we had was 8 foot. Explains the odd size in my supplies. My Coupe got the rest. Only got hallway to the engine compartment. I am running it in the wire tubing that the 10 ga wire headlight wire is in to protect it.

I ordered 100 ft of the tubing a couple days ago. Hard to find anything cost effective in 20 - 25 ft lengths. Just got it in today. We will run a full section from front to rear now. No splices for the system.

We got all our gauges in yesterday. Ordered them from Summit Wednesday at noon.

The clock upgrade took a detour. Seems I have a Westclox clock from a dismantled 66 or later LM that I am trying to convert. There are no kits for the Westclox clocks. Only for the Borg clocks. I will be sending my Monza clock and the Corsa dash clock I have to Instrument Services to have them upgrade the clocks to quartz movements. The panel will go back in with the blank face plate.

Donna and I got the instrument panel ready for installation. New green disks for the turn indicators made from the cover of a Cascade plastic box. Blue Hi-beam indicator made from a hanging folder from the office. They were tested with OEM lighted bulbs before being glued in. Led bulbs installed in the panel lights and the Hi beam indicator. I did not know if any other locations could use these LED bulbs. These are the bulbs Matt recommended recently.

Another clock update.I was able to upgrade the clock for the Corsa dash in my Monza Coupe. Only the Clock for the Monza dash needs to be shipped out to the company.
