OT: Driving a Corvair thru the Cairngorms National Park

My wife and I just got back from visiting our oldest daughter and son-in-law in Scotland, 4100 miles from Indy (boy, are our arms tired!)!

We took a 3 day tour from Edinburgh up to Aberdeen, visiting castles and other points of interest. We came back thru the Cairngorms National Park. The IS the Highlands and is some of the most beautiful scenery you will ever see!!! smileys with beer

As we were driving along (on the 'wrong side' of the road) I got to thinking that driving my Corvair thru there would be a blast! They have plenty of 'hills and dales' along with interesting curves and steep slopes.

Anyway, it is a nice place to visit. We drove past Balmoral Castle, the Scottish holiday home for the Royal Family. They were 'in residence' as we drove by so the tourist area was closed!

Always a good place to visit!

That's on the bucket list. We like cruise ships so have looked into a cruise over there and definitely a trans-Atlantic to eliminate one of those airplane torture rides.

We were in Edinburgh about 6 years ago. We left Dublin and went to the Corvair convention in Sturbridge. (Was that 2012?).

Your getting me confused (not difficult at my age)! confused smiley

Edinburgh is in Scotland.
Dublin is in Ireland.
Sturbridge is in Massachusetts!

Sounds like a lot of traveling, but nowhere near the Highlands!!
